I love this time of year because everything feels possible. The whole summer is stretched out ahead of us and we are so optimistic about what we can accomplish!
I won't spend a bunch of time writing, because... I don't have time! But here are a bunch of pictures of what is going on here.
This years garden plot is 1/2 an acre
Tilled smooth
Garlic coming up nicely!
The girls out fertilizing the hay field and once again giving us those dark orange yolkers!
We have been hatching! Here is an Ameraucana cross chick
And a tiny flock!
These rascals are way too much fun! Chores take so much time because I get stuck playing with them.
We call this little man "Dodger" because he is just the spitting image of his daddy Dodge.
We had lots of company this week too! Here is Stephanie getting thoroughly investigated.
Love those bright little eyes, such funny little creatures!
I had to share this picture because if I could take a picture of how summer should feel, this would be it. This is Stephanie and Charlie.
Little farm girl and I have been riding these boys lots!
I thought he looked pretty sharp in this picture
Little Farm girl has gotten her rising trot all figured out and is quite thrilled with it!
And she loves her little saddle
The first Toad of the spring waves hello!
Out to the garden to work
This is the raised bed maker on its maiden voyage. Matt and a welder friend of his made it out of scrap metal and a culvert. The metal frame is totally solid so its crazy heavy! We were pretty excited to try it out and see how it works!
And it passed the test! Actually it did a pretty awesome job.
Let the farming begin!
